Review: In Such Good Company

I am a huge fan of the show Mama’s Family. I want to be Thelma Harper when I grow up. But with that said, this character was created as a skit on the Carol Burnett show. So therefore, I watched the old show reruns to see the orgins of this show and discovered Carol Burnett.

In Such Good Company is the telling of Carol’s years on the show and it’s beginnings. It is such a good read and I was intrigued from the moment I picked it up. The history of the show and how it all came together. But I loved the story of how she came to meet Vicki Lawrence and how a girl with no experience was cast on a Hollywood show.

I feel sometimes Carol Burnett was ahead of her time in many ways and was a trailblazer for women in entertainment and comedy.
