Review: Broken Harbor

There is nothing that I love more than a good crime drama. I have a Bachelors in Criminology and studied Forensic Psych so that is why one of my favorite authors is Tana French. Her ability to write the Irish police squads cases with such intricate and descriptive ways makes you feel you are part of the story.

Broken Harbor is so much more than your run of the mill crime or mystery book. This time we follow the Detective on a journey of self-growth. Sometimes it takes confronting something so awful that it actually makes you face your own inner demons. The truth will set you free is an old saying but sometimes the truth can be too much to bear. Then there is human nature which sometimes comes with the downside of thinking they can prevent things from being known which in itself has consequences.

Just know that this book will take you on twist and turns. You will guess and guess again as to who the the culprit is. Once you start reading it, just know you will want to finish it as soon as possible. I don’t want to give away too many details but we learn that things are not always as they seem.
